Greeting from the Newly Appointed Outside Director

My name is Kozo Makiyama and I was recently appointed as an outside director. For many years, I was part of PARCO CO., LTD., which emerged from the same Saison Group as the Company, and am proud to have experienced the so-called “Saison Culture.”
One part of this culture that I felt was wonderful is the support Credit Saison provided every year for concerts performed by Jose Carreras. PARCO also supported these events for many years, and it continued to produce and organize a stage for Philippe Genty in a similar manner as Credit Saison even after Mr. Carreras was no longer able to come to Japan. This shows that Credit Saison has fostered a culture in which the employees involved in each business stay true to Credit Saison on an individual basis. The employees that are involved in these events pass on the Saison culture even as they seek to innovate it as a matter of course, and I am confident that the results of their efforts have given rise to long-standing projects and plans that have gone on to emerge as major academic projects.
I will spare no effort to ensure that the Credit Saison Group becomes an essential presence for those who enjoy enriched lifestyles even as I value this cultural creation that was established by my predecessors. I will do the same to ensure that I can contribute to sustainable management while engaging in friendly competition with the employees as we aim to evolve the Company into a corporate group that can consistently offer attractive proposals in a global environment.
