Management Report FY2016
16/40 FY2017 Management Vision
Here you can see our management vision. In simple terms, business enterprises of Japan in the 20th century worked in this way: people entered a company for life, the company made profits, the country's economy grew based on the profits made, resulting in accumulation of wealth. And the obtained wealth was distributed to the employees as fairly as possible. This has been the basic mechanism, by which Japanese business enterprises operated. For that reason, there were four systems everyone observed and protected: regular recruitment every spring, periodic pay hikes, seniority system, and lifelong employment. But this time has come to an end. We are living in the time of change - from a corporation to a business enterprise, from a salaried worker to a businessman. And wealth is also distributed differently - the company does not distribute wealth evenly to its employees, but, as the wealth is made by individuals, who are working there, the particular teams, sections, or enterprise departments, it is them who shall reap the fruits of their efforts. Receiving according to the wealth they produced. For that reason, I believe that we are already seeing the process, where such things as lifelong employment or seniority system are disappearing. And, boosting the total group power based on our six plus one vision, we will make some changes in the figures on consolidated base. There is just no other way but to change the company's model. What we mean here is not only such things as FinTech, but much more, as the smartphones are getting more and more widespread, the spread of Internet is absolutely astounding, or we have such things now as cloud computing or Facebook, these things are already scattered all around the world.
